TRAINEE AS MECHATRONICS ENGINEER (M/F/D)

Wherever modern machines and plants are manufactured, mechatronics engineers (m/f/d) are in demand. Mechatronics bring together the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology – this makes the profession interesting, exciting and forward-looking.

What do you have to expect during your training?

During the basic training, you will learn the most important tasks of a mechatronics engineer (m/f/d). This includes testing and measuring electronic circuits as well as setting up and operating electrotechnical machines and plants. These are controlled via programmable components. That is why you will also intensively deal with IT hardware and software. Skill, care and precision are also required to install technically complex machines.

Focus of the training, among other things:  

  • Basics of metal working
  • Basics of electrical engineering
  • Measurement and control technology
  • Quality management
  • Planning and control of work processes
  • Installation and testing of hardware and software components
  • Assembly and testing of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Programming of numerical controls and mechatronic systems

Theory and practice – a dual training

An exciting time awaits you during your 3.5-year dual training. The theoretical knowledge, which you will learn at a vocational school, ranges from the fundamentals of material science to the understanding and handling of electrical circuit diagrams and assembly drawings. At HDM, you can expect innovative machines and plants for the industrial cocoa and chocolate production, which are constructed, installed and successfully used worldwide at our site and later commissioned worldwide. To guarantee a high-quality practical part of the training, we also cooperate with the IHK training centre (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in Dresden on a vocational basis.

You are suited for this profession if you fulfil the following prerequisites:

  • Good grades in mathematics and physics
  • Technical know-how
  • Affinity for IT or data processing, electrical engineering and electronics
  • Logical understanding and abstraction skills
  • Interest in technology and craftmanship
  • Team spirit
